Material
- Name
- Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$, amorphous
- Family
- solid
- Origin
- laboratory
- Comments
- The amorphous aluminium oxide was prepared by sol-gel technique. The amorphous state of the material after drying (383 K) and annealing (873 K) was approved by NMR, XRD, DTA and TG measurements. In this way produced aluminium oxide has a decreased density of 2.45 g/cm$^{3}$ caused by water filled pores with a portion of 1/3 of the whole material. The density of the compact amorphous alumium oxide with a portion of 2/3 is 3.2 g/cm$^{3}$.
